POLICE responded to sounds of 'gun shots' in Flintshire.
Police said officers responded to reports that a what sounded like a gun had been fired in Flint on Monday evening.
The incident took place in a field near Albert Avenue and police said a car was seen leaving the scene a short time after.
But police have confirmed no firearm was discovered.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: "We had a report at 9.52pm from Albert Avenue in Flint that sounds similar to gunshots were heard in a nearby field and that a car had been seen leaving the scene.
"Officers conducted a search and the vehicle was located. One person was given a fixed penalty notice for possession of cannabis, but no firearms were found and there were no further reports of suspicious activity."
