POLICE continue to search for a man who is alleged to have indecently assaulted a young woman in a Hawarden park.

North Wales Police launched an appeal following the incident at Level Road Park, which was reported to police on Friday.

The force released an Evo-fit of the man (pictured) on Monday.

Inspector Steve Owens of the south Flintshire team told the Leader on Wednesday that officers are using DNA evidence gathering techniques in an attempt to identify him.

The inspector said: "This incident is concerning as it was in a highly populated area, at about 9.15pm - in daylight - and near a children's play area.

"The woman was walking through the park area when the man came up and indecently assaulted her.

"As he was on foot, I would suggest he could be local to the area. We would welcome any further information."

The man is described as being white, in his 40s, 5’5” tall, with short hair. At the time he was wearing a long navy blue top, light blue trousers and black shoes.

Anyone who may have information relating to the man or who witnessed the incident is asked to call PC Kerry Nash at Mold Police Station on 101, quoting reference 19100409669.
