THE popular and acclaimed Plastonbury Festival returns to Plas Madoc in Wrexham on Friday.

Now in its third year, the festival, which is funded by the 'We are Plas Madoc Community Group' and supporting by Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW) with the aim of contributing to the wellbeing of the community.

Plastonbury was first held in 2016 as a response to a community consultation in which residents highlighted how much they valued events which brought the community together.

The local groups involved in organising and supporting the event include: The Land, Plas Madoc Leisure Centre, Rhosymedre Church and Little Sunflowers Childcare.

One of the major attractions at the event will be the 'Plastonbury's Got Talent' competition, which will give local performers an opportunity to showcase their talents between 4pm-6pm.

The festival will also have fair rides, bouncy castles, face painting, stalls and early years activities, with £5 wristbands for unlimited rides available from The Land and Plas Madoc Leisure Centre.

Plastonbury 2019 takes place on Friday, August 2 between 3pm-8pm on The Opportunities Car Park on Hampden Way in Acrefair.
