THERE is going to be a carnival atmosphere as a village in Wrexham gears up for its highlight of the year.

The Wauns Carnival in Bradley takes place on Saturday, with a parade of dancers and drummers getting things started on Dodds Lane in Gwersyllt at 10am.

After the parade winds its way to Bradley Football Club's fields, a full day of entertainment is in store, with a petting zoo, fun fair rides, donkey rides and even some live wrestling.

Cllr Tina Mannering, who organises the annual event, said the carnival was the best in Wrexham and was all to do with bringing the community together.

She said: "Let's bring our community back together like the old days and give our children more to talk about than computer games."

With live music and plenty of food and drink options, this year's event is not to be missed and will also include the crowing of the Carnival Queen.
