CHILDREN were rewarded for their good behaviour as they celebrated at an end of term party.

Members of Halkyn Mountain Kids Club, based at Ysgol Rhos Helyg, in Rhosesmor, got to choose how they would celebrate after filling their behaviour jar with gold stars.

On the day, they enjoyed a bouncy castle obstacle course and a surprise ice cream van visit.

Sian Davies, club co-manager, said: "We have a reward system for good behaviour and if they fill the stars in the jar we always put on a party.

"We ask the children what they want to do. This time they asked for a bouncy castle."

More than 40 children took part and Sian said it was good to see them enjoy themselves.

She added: "We sat them down and told them we had a surprise for them. They didn't know it was coming and we told them to listen for it.

"As soon as they heard the ice cream van and saw it pull up, it was like a massive stampede.

"We try and do the celebrations once a term for their behaviour. We were lucky with the weather too, it was beautiful weather."

The club meet every day after school and also run a holiday club.

Sian said: "We always get the children involved and get them to pick what they want to do so they enjoy it.

"We still have spaces in our holiday club if anyone wants to join, just contact us."
