Meet the latest trader in the spotlight, as the Leader continues to celebrate Independent Retailer of the Month throughout July
Name: David Lea
Business: The New Saleroom
Location: 75 High Street, Holywell
Opening Hours: 8.30am until 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday
When did you open your business and why?
Opened on April 6. I opened the shop as I wanted a new challenge after being with the Evening Leader as a delivery driver for 20 years.
Why did you open in this location?
I opened on High Street because of the amount of footfall traffic and the amount of passing vehicles at top of the high street/ring road and they are able to view my stuff from outside the shop.
Tell us about your business/what do you sell?
Antiques and curious shop. I offer a unique selling point of selling other people’s items from garage and house clearances on a commission basis.
What’s your most memorable/proudest moment in business?
Proudest moment was when I acquired a 1969 red investiture chair from when Prince Charles was invested at Caernarfon castle on July 1.
