TWO MEN have been arrested in Deeside on suspicion of murdering a 21-year-old in Merseyside.

Merseyside Police said the men were arrested in Garden City on suspicion of the murder of James Halewood on Tuesday, July 16.

Arrested were a 23-year-old man from Ellesmere Port and 26-year-old man from Kirkby, Merseyside.

Emergency services were called to Broad Lane, Kirkby at around 12.50pm on Sunday, July 7 following reports a man had been stabbed.

Named by police as James Halewood, he was taken to hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

A Home Office post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death as a single stab wound.

Both suspects remain in custody for questioning.
