A HOPE school invited elderly residents to enjoy entertainment and cakes.
Castell Alun High School hosted a community afternoon for residents of local care homes and other guests on Wednesday.
Attendees were treated to performances from the recent "Night at the Musicals" production at the school, even getting up to participate with a few of the numbers. Guests were also given freshly made cakes, baked by staff and students.
The event was organised by Castell Alun, in conjunction with The Dementia Service Project within NEWCIS and the Dementia Friendly Communities Initiative Alzheimer’s Society Cymru.
It is part of a larger initiative by the school to encourage more community involvement.
Ceri Roberts, wider learning coordinator at Castell Alun, said: "It was thoroughly heartwarming to watch our students socialising with our guests. "Everybody involved gained so much from the event and emphasised the importance of community events such as this."
Deputy head Paul Edwards added: "This kind of event is so valuable for everybody involved.
"Our students have certainly gained a lot from their participation and it was truly touching to see some of the amazing interactions between the generations."
