FLINTSHIRE residents have been provided with a vital new bus service.

Cymau, Ffrith, Llanfynydd, Treuddyn and Nercwys residents will be able to access a new service courtesy of P&O Lloyd, on behalf of Flintshire Council.

It follows a temporary minibus service that ran through this area while Flintshire Council waited for an operator to tender the service, but faced issues of its size not being able to meet the level of demand.

The service, numbered LT7, runs from the Red Lion in Hope to Mold.

Cllr Carolyn Thomas, county councillor for Treuddyn, said: "The new bus has step on-step off disability access, Euro 6 technology which is good for the environment and is the perfect size.

"No operator tendered for the service originally so we had an interim taxi minibus service, which although plugged the gap, had lots of issues, so it was wonderful to have this bus for a busy, vital service.

"It should hopefully remain on the route if the numbers continue to need it and will most likely link in the CT1 route to Broughton."
