When did you open and why?
I opened this business 13 years ago when I was made redundant from my previous job in IT. I thought to myself that I'd give it a go because I've always been a bit of a nut when it comes to films, and I thought it might tide me over for a couple of years until I found something else but here I still am to this day.
Why did you open in this location?
I love the Butchers Market, I think the building is lovely and really makes you feel like a part of old town Wexham. I looked at a few places around the town and considered moving into a proper shop, but I think a business like this lends itself better to a market, I knew this was the right place for me.
Tell us about your business...
I sell movies of course. I have loads of different DVDs, modern films, classic films, all different genres and lengths.
I know that physical media is kind of on its way out at the moment with the introduction of Netflix and things like that, but it hasn't got everything, and sometimes people search for films and can't find them on there so they come to me.
What's your most memorable/proudest moment in business?
I'm not sure I have a proudest or most memorable day but I'm definitely very proud of the fact that I've managed to last 13 years here simply selling DVDs.
You get to meet so many different people from different backgrounds every day, no two days are the same, which is something I love.
Have you had any strange requests?
Yeah I've had a few over the years, selling DVDs you're guaranteed to get a few times when people come up to you and ask if you have films that you yourself haven't even heard of, or really old films that are probably even too old for DVD.
