A TOWN centre loan and foreign exchange shop has closed.

The Money Shop, on Mold High Street, closed its doors recently.

Joanna Douglass, business and regeneration officer at Mold Town Council, told the Leader: "It is disappointing to see the closure of the Money Shop, especially given it’s prominent location within the high street.

The Leader:

"This is as a result of a national review of their stores which has led to a number of closures nationally.

"I am encouraged by the number of independent retails celebrating Independent retailer Month throughout July in Mold, and I am therefore hopeful that this unit will not remain empty for long.

"Mold has recently taken part in the #fiverfest campaign and I like to remind customers to shop local.

The Leader:

"In doing so, will support the local traders, their suppliers and the people they depend on run their businesses.

"It will provide the confidence to the town and community enabling businesses to prosper and grow."

The Money Shop was approached for comment.
