A TOWN'S new business and regeneration officer is to host a meet and greet for businesses.

Joanna Douglass took up the post of business and regeneration officer for Mold Town Council in May.

She has previously worked in economic regeneration for Denbighshire Council, European Leader funding for Cheshire West and Chester Council as well as financial risk management for the firm City Financial.

Her responsibilities include supporting businesses and identifying and applying for sources of funding and investment for the town.

Mrs Douglass is to host an informal meet and greet in the Jubilee Room at Mold Town Council, Earl Road, on August 1.

The event will be held from 5pm to 7pm and refreshments will be provided.

Samantha Roberts, clerk to Mold Town Council, said: "As town clerk I would encourage as many businesses in the town as possible to visit the town hall to meet Jo.

"If however, they are not able to attend then they are more than welcome to contact Jo direct, as she would welcome the opportunity to meet and chat to everyone.

"Jo will be able to provide a brief background to her skills and aspirations for the new role.

"There will be an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.

"Jo is keen to hear your views as the town's businesses and traders and work in partnership.

"This will be a key step in creating a business plan for the town and developing priorities for the future."

Speaking to the Leader soon after taking up the post, Mrs Douglass said: “I was instantly attracted to the job.

“I was brought up in Ruthin and Mold is where I used to come when I was a child.

“Mold is truly unique. It has a sense of place, together with an abundance culture and heritage - it has something for everyone.

“I am very excited about this role and the opportunities ahead."

Anyone who is unable to attend the meet and greet can contact Mrs Douglass by email - business@moldtowncouncil.org.uk or call 01352 758 532.
