WREXHAM’s Continental Market has returned this week.

International themed traders have lined Lord Street selling various items and showcasing a host of street food options to tempt the taste buds.

It’s open between 10.30am and 5.30pm and it’s here until Saturday.

The event is operated by The Public Markets; a Manchester-based events management company in association with Wrexham Council.

Many people have already turned out to get a glimpse of what’s on offer and are enjoying the variation from the regular shops on the high street.

One of those is Pauline Horsfall, from Wrexham, who believes market events like this should happen more often.

She said: “Market events are very important to the town of Wrexham.

“It’s things like this that will bring more people into the town centre which is something that it is desperately needing right now, and if anything, I think things like this need to be taking place more often.

“By bringing more people into the town through markets, that should positively affect other businesses in the area, which is a good thing of course.

“It’s something different from the regular shops you see in the town every day, there’s a lot of different things you can buy and food you can eat so I think it’s really nice.”

Vincenzo Miraglia, who operates the Altieri Wood Fire Pizza stall, added: “When you have markets like these ones, it can really bring a street or a town to life.

“It’s good for big towns like Wrexham to have things like this, it improves visibility for smaller businesses like ourselves.

“This is the first time we’ve been here in Wrexham; we’ve only been here for a few hours, but it’s been good. The people of Wrexham are friendly, and we would definitely like to do it again.”
