WREXHAM Council have announced free swimming sessions for women at Plas Madoc Leisure Centre.

The sessions are for people 16-years or older, and the council are encouraging people to sign up early to guarantee a place.

In a statement on their website, they have said:

“You might have seen our piece earlier this month on ladies-only walking sessions at Queensway.

“Now, our Active Wrexham team – through the Get Out, Get Active project – is supporting a series of ladies-only (16+) free swimming sessions at Plas Madoc Leisure Centre, Acrefair.

“All abilities are welcome, and the sessions are fully inclusive. They provide a great opportunity to start swimming, and build your confidence in a safe, ladies-only session.

“The swim sessions are available both morning and evening, every Monday and Thursday until July 25.

“The sessions are limited – so it’s best to book early.”

Cllr Andrew Atkinson, Lead Member for Youth Services and Anti-Poverty, with responsibility for Leisure, said: “Swimming is an excellent way to both get fit and stay fit, and these sessions will be a great opportunity for any women who might not have considered it before to try it out.”
