A CARE home in Flintshire has helped one of its residents celebrate their 100th birthday in style on June 16.
Employees at the Willowdale residential home in Buckley held a small party to celebrate resident Marjorie Biggadike’s milestone birthday which was held in one of the care homes bottom lounges.
The party saw family and employees join Ms Biggadike to celebrate her birthday festivities, which was given the royal seal of approval by the Queen herself.
Naomi Jones, a care assistant at the Willowdale Residential Home in Buckley, expressed her delight at seeing Ms Biggadike being treated like she was the actual Queen for the day.
She said: “Ms Biggadike was slightly overwhelmed especially after receiving a birthday card from the Queen.
“She certainly acted like she was one, she wore a tiara, had her feet up and was going around the care home doing the royal wave.
“She even had children at her granddaughter’s school wishing her at happy birthday whilst they were in assembly.”
Ms Biggadike has been a resident at the care home since 2013 and is still a vital member of her family.
Ms Jones, added: “One of her granddaughters created a memory book of Ms Biggadike’s life.”
