MAD-cap fundraisers went Gung Ho for Hope House Children’s Hospices at a Chester Racecourse event raising more than £6,500.
Gung Ho, held for the second year at the Racecourse, saw more than 164 runners raising money for Hope House by tackling a three mile course littered with giant inflatable obstacles.
Hope House area fundraiser Nicola Sciarrillo says teams from businesses across North Wales and Chester donned their running shoes to do battle with the challenging course.
She said: “We had teams from Pet Place, North Wales, Collingwood Executive Search in Tarporley, Deeside’s DRB Group, P&A Group of Mold and Saltney, Bootcamp of Old Colwyn and Marco Cable Management, Anglesey all raising funds for us.
“And Chester company Entyce Creative videoed the Hope House runners for us which is something we are very grateful for.
“Everyone taking part committed to raising a minimum of £50 in sponsorship although most smashed that target. It was a brilliant team effort and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
She added: “We need to raise in excess of £6m a year to support all the children and families we help from across North Wales, Shropshire and parts of Cheshire.
“It’s so sad three children die each week in our area from incurable illness but we can only afford to reach and help one of those children.
“That’s why it’s so important we have as much help as possible from communities and businesses across the region.”
