THE Welsh Blood service are returning to Mold and are appealing for donors to come along.

A donation event will take place on Monday, June 24 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Glanrafon Road between 2pm and 4pm as well as 5.30pm until 7.30pm.

However, at the time of writing this, the service reports that only half of the available appointments have been booked.

A spokesman said: “If you can spare a 30 mins, please do go along and donate. You never know when you or family member may be in need of donated blood.

“The Welsh Blood service are trying to build their blood stock levels ahead of the summer months when stocks drop as people go on holiday and are then deferred upon return depending on where they travelled to.

Anyone aged between 17 and 66, weighs over 7st 12lbs and not subject to certain medical conditions can volunteer.

According to the Welsh Blood website, the service – which relies entirely on donors coming forward - needs to collect 350 donations every day to supply Welsh hospitals with the level of blood to meet patient needs.

The service asks if you have an hour to spare to save three lives?
