SOME areas of Wrexham were left counting the cost after extensive flooding caused damage.
The previous day’s rainfall continued to have an effect in Brymbo, as the pavement running along Blast Road had separated from the kerb just above a drain, with water gushing from the gap between.
But despite the flooding parts of the county experienced the day before, Wrexham bounced back well from the heavy deluge of torrential rainfall.

Yesterday morning Manor Lane in Rossett was still closed with diversions in place, while the village remained on flood alert.
But the village’s Alyn Riverside Country Pub restaurant remained open for business as usual.

A spokesman for the venue said: “We would like to thank everyone for their support and offers of help but we are okay.”
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews finished pumping water from a flooded Ty Canol Caravan Park in Llangollen after almost 24 hours.
In Wrexham town centre, main roads and streets were back to normal, including Cefn Road running along Caia Park which was one of the worst affected areas the day before.
And Brickfield Rangers FC’s ‘fun football’ evening session for youngsters at Clywedog Park was also cancelled due to adverse conditions.
