CHESTER Racecourse has announced that the open course enclosure will be closed for Saturday’s meeting due to the recent bad weather.

People with tickets will be able to either access the Dee Stand or receive refunds, which will be processed after Monday, June 17.

In a statement on its website, the company said: “The racecourse regret to inform the public that the condition of the ground following adverse weather conditions now means that the Open Course enclosure will be closed for Saturday's race meeting - Liverpool Gin Summer Saturday - 15 June 2019.

“Anyone who has pre-purchased Open Course tickets to this enclosure will be eligible to use their tickets to access the Dee Stand on Saturday 15 June (via Gate 7), or request a full refund from the Chester Racecourse Box Office.

“Refunds will be processed from Monday 17 June. Please retain your Open Course ticket and contact the Box Office on 01244 304 600 for further information.”

It continues: “The Open Course car park will also be closed, therefore racegoers are advised to use the Chester Park and Ride service as an alternative. Information about the Chester Park and Ride can be found online here.

“Please be aware that food and drink are not permitted in the Dee Stand or any enclosure other than the Open Course Car Park Picnic Area. The Dee Stand is not suitable for gazebos and camping chairs are not permitted.”

Those wanting a refund must retain their ticket and contact the Box Office on 01244 304 600 from Monday, June 17.
