A FLINTSHIRE town will be in the television spotlight later this week.

Mold and the surrounding area will be the subject of a full episode of S4C travel series 'Codi Pac', which showcases hidden gems and places of interest in towns across Wales.

Host Geraint Hardy will learn about the rich history of the area, starting with the Grade One-listed Gladstone Library in Hawarden.

He then ventures into Mold to hear about the town’s most notable historical figures and artefacts, including the Mold Gold Cape, a Bronze Age ceremonial cape which is now exhibited in the National Museum in Cardiff, as well as celebrated novelist Daniel Owen, who came from the town.

Geraint and the crew also visit Theatr Clwyd to hear about the big names that have graced its stage over the years and visit a number of Mold’s popular restaurants, pubs and hotels.

To find out more about the area’s former limestone mines, Geraint also heads into the Loggerheads Country Park, before visiting the summit of Moel Famau.

'Codi Pac' will be shown at 8.25pm on Friday, June 14 on S4C, with English subtitles available. The episode will also be available to watch on demand at S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer.
