DOZENS of women came together to raise hundreds of pounds for charity.
Members of the Deeside Ladies Circle held an afternoon tea over the weekend in a bid to raise funds for a cause close to their hearts.
Cathryn Rawlinson, former chair, said the event, held at Hawarden Institute, was to raise funds for Parkinson's UK.
She told the Leader: "I'm now immediate past lady Chairman of Deeside Ladies Circle and wanted to do this event as my Mum lives with Parkinsons day to day and it's a cruel disease.
"Parkinson's UK helps support the person living with it and their families cope with it along with looking for a cure which sadly there isn't at present."
Deeside Ladies Circle is a national organisation aiming to bring women together and raise funds for charities.
Attendees on the night enjoyed afternoon tea, including refreshments from Precious Chocolates and a fashion show from local Hawarden boutique, Trilby Pheasant.
Over £600 was raised from the event.
Laura Evans, current lady Chairman, added: "I was pleased with the support we got locally and from the local business who came along to make the afternoon even more fun and special.
"It was a fantastic afternoon where we raised £655 for Parkinson's UK."
