AN INTERGENERATIONAL cake competition is set to take place in Mold this summer.
The event, which will happen on August 13 at Mold’s Daniel Owen Centre, sees the participants split into three groups - under 16s, under 50s and over 50s – as they create some mouth-watering sweet treats.
There are prizes on offer for each category and, as well as keeping the kids occupied during the summer holidays, there will eighties music and war time recipe ideas for the adults.
A judging panel will include Gill Broadfoot, of ABC Cakes in Shotton and known from Channel 4’s Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, Adam Cleal, a former contestant on the Great British Bake Off, and Ian Pucell the owner of Mold Latitude 53.
To enter, a signup sheet is available at the Mold Community Beat Shop in Daniel Owen Community Centre and can be accessed every day from 11am and 2pm.
There is a £1 entry fee with all proceeds raised from the event going towards a Mold-based neighbourhood watch scheme, OWL Cymru Crime Prevention, ensuring the safety of older people in Mold and the surrounding area.
