A BOMB squad called to Wrexham determined the suspicious item was not a danger to the public.
A gas canister had been discovered by the Smithy View Service Station, and North Wales Police confirmed a bomb disposal unit had been dispatched to tackle the situation.
The road was closed in both directions on Monday afternoon while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit dealt with the situation.

However, a spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed that the bomb disposal team demmed the gas cannister to be of no danger, stating: "The object was found to be an old gas canister and the owner of the premises was able to dispose of it himself.
"The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit were satisfied it was harmless and of no danger to the public."
