Reports of two cars on fire were logged - with the fire deliberately ignited in one vehicle and then spreading to another.

Rail passengers spoke with the Leader at around 9am and shared their shock and disgust at the situation.

Tim Ball, from Flint, said: "It is absolutely mindless, I just don't understand what people are thinking when they set cars on fire like this. Things could have been so much worse."

The Fire and Rescue Service also recorded that a listed building, the Railway Goods Shed opposite the Flint Railway Station, sustained fire damage in the process of the incident.

Katy James, from Bagillt, said: "It is such a shame that the damage has spread to a listed building. I hope it can be repaired from this incident, which is just reckless and stupid on the culprits part."
