ACTION has been taken against caravans parked in Connah's Quay.

Cllr Paul Shotton told the Leader he had received numerous complaints about the vehicles parked at the Halfway House pub in the Golftyn Ward.

He said: "The caravans have at last been removed from the Halfway House pub.

"I received numerous complaints from residents about the state of the area, with the caravans but more so the burnt out caravan.

"I contacted FCC Environment officers and asked them to put a notice up.

"The area was secured with fencing all the way around but the caravans were still there. I repeatedly asked for the caravans to be removed and I'm pleased to say they have now gone.

"Residents are really pleased on that one and I'm really pleased for the residents. They have been asking for a while."

A young homeless man previously spoke of his shock after a caravan he was temporarily living in was destroyed by a fire.

Flintshire County Council’s Chief Officer for Planning, Environment and Economy, Andrew Farrow, added: "The Council can confirm that, following the issue of an enforcement notice, the landowner has removed the caravans and secured the site by installing new fencing."
