AN ANNUAL scheme recognising the best kept areas of Flintshire is now accepting entries.

Towns and communities are being invited to take part in this year's best kept communities competition.

The competition for 2019 will be similar to previous years, but Flintshire Local Voluntary Council have taken over the administration of the process on behalf of Flintshire County Council.

Organisers are hoping to encourage as many villages, towns and senior citizens’ estates to participate as possible.

There are five categories in the competition, including: best community garden or wildlife areas, best kept village with a population of under 1000, best kept community/village with a population of over 1000 and under 5000, best kept town centre with a population of over 5000 and best kept senior citizens social housing estate/complex (either council owned or housing association).

The closing date for all entries is Friday, June 14.

Judging will take place in the week beginning July 1.

The presentation evening will be held as part of FLVC’s AGM on the evening of Thursday, September 12 at Theatr Clwyd.
