A WOMAN celebrating her 90th birthday received a surprise visitor at her party.
The outgoing Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor Andy Williams, was a surprise visitor at an afternoon tea party to celebrate the 90th birthday of Stroma Davies.
This tea party was organised by members of Wrexham Trefoil Guild of which Mrs Davies has been a loyal member for many years.
Having volunteered as a leader with the Girl Guide Association (now Girlguiding UK) in both Scotland and England, Mrs Davies was also involved in various roles at regional and county levels throughout her guiding life.
She is still extremely active, enjoying her bridge clubs, holidays abroad and Scottish dancing, and is a keen participant in the various events arranged by the Trefoil (formed to support adult members of Girlguiding).
This was Cllr Williams' last event as Mayor and it was a great honour for Mrs Davies and the rest of the Trefoil Guild members to be able to share the occasion with him.
