THE former headteacher of a Wrexham primary school has been reprimanded after being found guilty of unprofessional conduct.
Jonathan Plunkett, formerly headteacher of Ysgol Yr Hafod in Johnstown was given a two-year order reprimand after an Education Workforce Council (EWC) fitness to practice hearing.
It was found that on or around April 9, 2016, Mr Plunkett inappropriately shared confidential information with a colleague regarding staff salaries and/or the staffing review; and/or made inappropriate and/or derogatory comments in respect of staff at the school to a colleague.
In 2016 he sent messages of an inappropriate nature to a colleague, in that he made inappropriate and/or derogatory comments in respect of staff at the school.In the same year he also had an inappropriate personal relationship with another colleague in that he knew, or reasonably ought to have known, the colleague was vulnerable.
He also sent messages of an inappropriate nature to that colleague in that he made inappropriate and/or derogatory comments in respect of staff.
The EWC confirmed a “reprimand was imposed on Mr Plunkett’s registration as a school teacher with effect from, April 12, 2019”.
