TWO long serving members have been elected to a lead a community council.

Brymbo Community Council elected County Councillor Paul Rogers as Chairman and Councillor Leighton Prince as Vice Chairman, when voting on who to lead their organisation at their AGM.

Cllr Rogers said it was a privilege to be asked to serve as Chairman. He told members that the last year had been difficult for the Community Council following the death of Councillor Tony Birch and paid tribute to his work in the community.

Speaking after the meeting Cllr Rogers said: "I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as chairman for the next year and am pleased that Councillor Prince accepted the role as vice chair".

Priorities for the council in the next year include continued investment in play and youth services across the community, in particular delivering the new youth facility in Brymbo, improving services for older people and working to address road safety issues.
