HUNDREDS of pounds were donated to a lifesaving charity by members of a Mold Club.

The town's Inner Wheel Club members have been saving twenty pence pieces in Smarties tubes in order to raise funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.

The charity's area coordinator Debra Sima was presented with a £300 cheque and gave a summary of the valuable work done to save lives in Wales.

It provides a free life saving helicopter Medical service for the critically ill and injured and is not funded by the NHS only by charitable donations.

There are four helicopters and medical crews stationed at Caernarfon,Welshpool, Llanelli and Cardiff.

They are capable of reaching patients anywhere in Wales within twenty minutes of receiving the phone call.
