A POPULAR family event is to return to Buckley at the weekend.

The town's annual fun day will take place in Precinct Way car park and short stay car park on Sunday (May 19) from 12noon to 5pm.

There will be a range of fun and games on offer for the whole family, including an axe display and stunts.

Andy White, Buckley town centre manager, said: "We change the theme of the day every year and this year we've got the Welsh Axemen, who will be doing a chainsaw demonstration and tree climbing.

"Then we have Dan Clarke Stunts and music on all afternoon, as well as stalls, food and the fun fair.

"We have plenty going on and lots for children and families.

"It's a fantastic community day and we always have a good turnout.

"I would definitely encourage all local retailers to open or take part in the day."

Calling on residents to take part in the day, he added: "Come on out and you will be made very welcome."

Local musicians set to perform include Emma B, Jarvis Brothers, Yubaba and Right Turn Clyde.

There will also be crowd entertainers throughout the afternoon.
