STAFF from a gym in Wrexham are taking part in a national event to raise money for charity.

PureGym, which has a site in the town centre, are carrying out a non-stop seven-day National Relay challenge to support Mental Health UK, which will start in Aberdeen and cover 4,5000km.

The challenge will see those taking part passing as many PureGym locations as possible, with more than 200 people taking part, hoping to raise a total of £250,000.

The staff at the Wrexham gym will be doing their bit when they cycle from the gym to Chester on June 18 and in the process, raise £1000 towards the overall total.

The Central Road gym will also be holding a charity week from Monday, May 20 to help raise awareness of the cause by delivering five group exercise classes, with the £5 fee for taking part being given to the chosen charity.
