A BUSINESS owner of nearly forty-years has told of her frustration at the battle she faces just to open due to inconsiderate parking and rodents.

Christine Roberts, who runs the Sure To Please Tailors in Wrexham town centre says there has been an increase in parking outside the premises which is making it difficult for her to even physically open the shutters.

And she believes an increase in residential flats in the area has also attracted more rodents and vermin.

The Leader:

Ms Roberts, whose store is located on Chester Street in Wrexham, took to social media to voice her anger towards the car users that are causing this problem.

Ms Roberts, posted a selection of pictures that highlight this issue and has called for more action to be taken against those who park without thought.

She said: "I am absolutely sick of the parking outside my shop.

The Leader:

"In the 38 years the business has been trading, we have never had issues like this.

"Since the flats have been developed near by, it is a free for all. I struggle most mornings to open my shutters."

Ms Roberts, also criticised Wrexham Council and called on the authority to accept more responsibility for the decision to allow the building of more flats near her shop, which has resulted in more rubbish being left open to attract rodents.

The Leader:

She added: "The rubbish here is disgraceful, we are getting a lot more rats and mice.

"The Council are not interested in the cars that are parking here, even if they are parked on the pavement.

When contacted for a comment regarding this issue, a spokesperson from Wrexham Council said: "Nuisance parking can be reported online using this link

Alternatively you can call 01978 298989 to report it."
