PARENTS are being asked to ‘know what their children are up to in the evenings’ as police crackdown on reports of young people carrying knives in Flintshire.

In a post on social media, the South Flintshire policing team posed the question after reports that teenagers in the Mynydd Isa and Mold areas were intimidating to the public and allegedly carrying knives.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “This behaviour is not acceptable and, as part of Op Branding, we will be taking a zero-tolerance approach to any offences committed.

“We are taking steps to identify those involved, so if your child is hanging around with these groups do not be surprised if they come home with a stop-search ticket or if you have a phone call from the police asking you to visit the cells to pick up your child.”

If you are concerned about someone carrying a knife, call 101 in non-emergency situations or 999 in an emergency.
