A CELEBRATION of the inspirational teachings of the King James Bible will take place in Llandudno next week.

The Llandudno Bible week, founded following the 400th Anniversary of the King James V1 Bible in 2011, has moved from the Lighthouse Church on the West Shore to the recently refurbished Gloddaeth United church on Chapel Street and runs from Tuesday, May 7 until Friday 10.

Opening on Tuesday 7, this year’s speaker is Dr James Robson, the ministry director for Keswick Ministries, Cumbria, and who has in the past trained church leaders for nearly 20 years at Oxford University.

A spokesperson for the event said: "We’re very excited to be welcoming James Robson, Ministry Director for Keswick Ministries to Llandudno in 2019."

Dr Robinson will hold morning sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday entitled First Things First - based on the book of Nehemiah - as well as evening sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10.30am called Encounters with Jesus, which will be based on Luke’s gospel and explain how Jesus deals powerfully and tenderly with individuals.

There will be a Welsh session - with translation - on the Friday evening at 7.30pm.

As well as a major national speaker there will be contributions from authors, significant ministries with a local base and an artists exhibition, including the exciting art work of Christian group Studio.

Two authors will be launching and signing copies of their books, including Ian Jennings, author of A Departing Light-Growing through Grief and Tim Gough, from Llandudno Youth, for Christ who hosts the multi-award-winning blog youthworkhacks.com who will speak about reclaiming youth ministry in his recently released Rebooted.

A number of local ministries will be showcased, while Jini Millington, staff nurse at St. David’s Hospice, will share about her work with the Mercy Rescue Orphanage in Kitali, Kenya.

Phil Bamber from Compassion will discuss their work with developing children all over the world, Stuart Anderson will offer a talk on the Living Waters Secondary School building Project in Tanzania and Margaret Tucker will give us an insight into Penrhyn Bay Church’s venture linking marginalised people in the area with people in rehab in Estonia

Everyone is welcome and there is no charge, although a free will offering will be taken.
