POLICE have issued an appeal for help tracking down thousands of pounds worth of stolen furniture in Flint.

North Wales Police reported that Coast Road Furniture was the victim of a “shameless burglary” at their warehouse in Oakenholt between Tuesday and Thursday last week (April 16-18).

The Leader previously reported that Andy Hughes, owner of the Deeside-based furniture shop, issued an appeal via Facebook to trace several stolen pieces of furniture including beds, sofa beds, mattresses, a selection of carpets and vinyl which is all estimated to have cost up to £8,000.

Mr Hughes said: "The roller shutter door on the warehouse has been forced and someone must have climbed under and attacked the lock on the back of the door.

"They were then able to roll the doors open and they must have had a very large van. They have stolen property including three-piece-suites, beds carpets – enough to fit out a whole house.

"We have made an insurance claim, but it won't cover everything.”

Mr Hughes said one of the most upsetting aspects of the break-in is that the items taken were due to go to customers.
