TWO appliances from the North Wales Fire and Rescue service were called out to a caravan fire in Flintshire, before returning hours later when the blaze reignited.

Fire engines from Buckley and Flint were first despatched to Rowley's Drive, Shotton, after reports of a caravan being alight came at 2.45am on Monday, April 22.

By the time of their arrival, the fire had spread to a transit van.

The Leader:

Firefighters used two hose reel jets and hydraulic tools to extinguish the blaze, but the caravan was left irreparable with 100 per cent fire damage, while the transit van suffered 50 per cent damage from the incident.

Little over three hours later, at 5.48am, North Wales Fire and Rescue received another report from Rowley Road – after the caravan blaze reignited over the dry night hours.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
