TEMPERATURES are set to soar to 22C in York today amid long sunny periods, and could hit 23C on Easter Sunday - warmer than many Mediterranean cities and resorts.
More sunshine is expected on Easter Monday, but with temperatures falling to a maximum of 'only' 20C with a freshening breeze.
Tuesday should be another sunny day, but with a maximum of 18C, and showers are expected to arrive on Wednesday and continue for the rest of the week.
The stunning Easter weather has brought sunbathers back into York's Museum Gardens, as Frank Dwyer's photograph shows here.
