A VOLUNTARY organisation supporting families with young children has made sure they do not miss out on having Easter Eggs.

Home-Start Flintshire, based in Mold, offers support to families with at least one child under the age of 11 who are in need of help.

And to make sure underprivileged children do not go without the traditional Easter snacks, Home-Start has donated dozens of the chocolate eggs to Flintshire Foodbank.

The scheme forms part of Home-Start's 'giving lent' appeal, which involves instead of people giving up something for the lent, they donate one item a day for each of the 40 days of lent.

The Leader:

The majority of the items will be donated to the food bank, with the remainder kept for a Easter fun-day with some of the families Home-Start supports.

Sharon Windsor, Home-Start Flintshire senior organiser, said: "What an amazing effort from every one involved in the Easter appeal this year, thank you all.

"We will be taking the donations to Flintshire Foodbank and making sure each child in Flintshire does not miss out and receives an Easter treat."
