A MAN said to have a compulsion to look at indecent images of children has been remanded in custody so an assessment of risk can take place.

Dominic Davey, 24, of Bakery Fields at Brynteg, Wrexham, attended Mold Crown Court where he admitted attempting to possess images.

Judge Rhys Rowlands adjourned the case for sentence but revoked his bail in the meantime.

He said he wanted the probation service to assess his risk.

The judge added he felt there was a strong possibility that Davey would commit further offences if bailed.

He told Davey it was a serious matter that he had breached a suspended prison sentence imposed in 2017 and in June of last year he was placed on another suspended sentence.

"You are now back for another offence of a similar nature," the judge said.

He said Davey was bound to receive a custodial sentence. The only question was its length and nature.

In view of the compulsion Davey had to look at such material Judge Rowlands said he wanted his future risk to be assessed by the probation service.
