A RESCUE team has issued a warning for people going out to the coast this Easter.

The Flint Coastguard Rescue Team has said plenty of sunshine is forecasted but people should remember to check on tide times so they do not get caught out by the incoming tide.

A spokesman for the team said: "The Easter weekend is finally here and there is plenty of sunshine forecast.

"When the tide is out, certain areas of our beaches consist of extremely soft mud, please pay attention to warning signs that Lifeguards will place on the beach warning of the mud so you don’t get stuck.

"The beach will attract lots of families this weekend. It is important to look after your little ones.

"As they explore the exciting and potentially unfamiliar surroundings, they can often quickly become disorientated and find themselves lost. If this does happen, find a Lifeguard or call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

"The beach is a wonderful place to spend the day, all we ask is that you are aware of your surroundings and spend it safely.

"Flint Coastguard Rescue Team would like to wish you a safe and Happy Easter."
