A BUCKLEY venue is to host a charity dog show.

The event will take place between 11am and 4pm at The Tivoli in Buckley on April 28 in aid of Ark Angels Animal Rescue.

A spokesman for the venue said: "Various dog charities will be attending including Ark Angels, Hector's Greyhound Rescue and OWL Cymru Paws on Patrol/Dogs on the Street.

"There will be a children’s face painter, Chrysalis Pets from Buckley will be bringing some small animals along and a variety of pet related stalls will be there selling products ranging from dog food, personalised feeding stations, toys and treats."

There will also be appearances from the Loose Ladies Radio team, an onsite photographer to take dogs pictures and groomers offering small services during the day.

Classes for the show include prettiest girl at 11.30am, handsome boy at 12noon, most talented dog at 12.30pm, best child handler at 1pm and best rescue dog at 2pm.

Other classes include dog the judge would most like to take home at 2.30pm, dog who looks most like its owner at 3pm and best in show final at 3.30pm. Entry costs £1 per class.

There will be an interval at 1.30pm for a training demo from Sam's K9 Academy and Puppy School Flintshire.

The spokesman added: "[There are] some amazing prizes available for the winner of the best in show and in the raffle.

"Please note this is an event for dog friendly dogs.

"So if you know that your dog does not get on with others or will be uncomfortable in the surroundings then please leave them at home."

Organisers have said the first 50 people through the door will also receive a free goodie bag.
