A WREXHAM village will soon have lifesaving equipment installed at three different locations.

Llay Community councillors had already agreed to purchase the equipment at its meeting in February, with the initial proposal for buy two defibrillators at a cost of £3000 increased to three so that the entire village would be covered.

At their April meeting, which took place on Wednesday evening, the councillors agreed to install the new equipment outside the Royal British Legion, The Miners Welfare and the The Crown pub.

Cllr Ken Kupit, who also serves on the Miners Welfare Committee, said discussions had already taken place about the equipment currently housed within institute building being moved to the Llay Resource Centre.

He said: "As far as I was aware, the plan is to re-locate the defibrillator from inside the Welfare to here.

"The main reason for this is because at the moment, the defibrillator located inside the building is obviously only available during opening hours, so moving it will give the village an additional option."

Chair Bryan Apsley said: "I think these locations are the best and most reasonable options for the village."

The council will now make the necessary arrangements to have them installed, including full training on how they are to be used and accessed in times of emergency.
