HUNDREDS lined the streets of Holywell to start off the long Easter weekend with a festival of fun.

The town council held its Easter Festival event on Thursday, April 18, with numerous stalls and attractions for the whole family.

Shortly after starting, the town crier announced the upcoming parade featuring the Cambria Band and Holywell’s Debonaires.

Families packed the streets to support the event and browse the variety of market stalls that took over the Tower Gardens area displaying handcrafted gifts and various other interesting items on offer.

Cllr Rosetta Dolphin, mayor of Holywell, spoke about the success of the event and was very pleased to see so many people out enjoying the council-run activities.

She said: “It is lovely to see so many families enjoying time together in the lead up to Easter. It is great to see the High Street so alive with hustle and bustle and I hope that everyone is able to walk away with smiles on their face.”

Spilling onto the main High Street, there were carnival games, ice cream vans and the usual Holywell market traders who all enjoyed the extra footfall from the event.
