A SOCIAL housing provider which manages more than 6,000 homes across north and mid Wales has undergone a restructure.

ClwydAlyn Housing Limited is a new group name, replacing the previous multi-faceted Pennaf Housing Group linking with the roots of the original Clwyd Alyn Housing Association established 40 years ago.

The company is aiming to ensure it can lead the way in providing more homes, tackling poverty, remaining closely connected with customers and bringing hope to local communities across the region.

“ClwydAlyn has always been the trusted brand at the heart of the services we provide, and we are keen to have a simplified, strong, efficient company structure to ensure we can achieve our bold plans for the future,” said Clare Budden, Group Chief Executive of ClwydAlyn.

“There is a significant shortfall of social and affordable housing across Wales with too many people suffering homelessness and living in poor quality housing. As a high-performing Housing Association, also delivering care, nursing and supported housing, we will always focus on building and managing excellent quality homes.

“Our new company structure means we will also be able to take a bold step forward providing comprehensive, innovative services to help achieve our mission – ‘Together to beat poverty.’

“Austerity is having an impact on many people in Wales. There are many people suffering income, food and fuel poverty, and, as a company, we will give priority to a number of initiatives to change this,” added Clare.

“As well as our ongoing commitment, working in partnership with Local Authorities across the region to create more affordable homes and specialist housing solutions, ClwydAlyn is set to do more to support residents into work, training and volunteering opportunities.

“The company is committed to making homes energy efficient and creating great neighbourhoods to live in. We are also providing services to enable people to manage their homes successfully and we also plan to roll out a

‘Good Food Initiative’ in partnership with Flintshire Council and a social enterprise, Can Cook.

“We will retain some additional company structures in the background, to support the development and funding side of our business and our commercial lettings and specialist property management service, has been rebranded as TaiElwy, sharing ClwydAlyn’s values of trust, kindness and hope,” added Clare.

ClwydAlyn is a Charitable Registered Society and employs more than 700 staff managing homes and providing housing related services across the county areas of Powys, Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Anglesey and Gwynedd.
