AN ANTIQUE valuation and coffee morning is being held to raise funds for the restoration of Erddig’s garden fountains.

Wrexham National Trust Association (WNTA) has been raising money for Erddig since 1976 and will welcome professional auctioneer and TV presenter Christina Trevanion to St Margaret’s Church Hall in Garden Village on Tuesday, April 23.

The Whitchurch-based antique expert, who has appeared on the likes of Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip and Flog It!, will appear with business partner and fellow TV personality Aaron Dean to provide valuations on up to three items per person, with all funds raised going towards restoring the fountains.

It will be held between 10am-1pm. Entry is free but there will be a charge of £2 for the valuation of each item.

Pat Venner, former chair and committee member of WNTA, said: “These fountains were a welcoming feature in the parterre on the East Front from many years and much appreciated by Erddig’s many visitors.”

“WNTA was the brain child of the late Leta Jones, who on returning from working abroad was conducted around Erddig by a family friend and saw the house in its unhappy state before the restoration.

"Over the years the association has raised many thousands of pounds for Erddig and the National Trust.

"The list of work which has been funded is a tribute to the hard work by many people since that time, but we do have fun as well.

“We hold speaker meetings in January, February, March, October, November and December on subjects reflecting the interests of our members.”
