A HEART-WARMING video shows pupils from a Flintshire school pay tribute to their friend who has died suddenly at the age of 15.

Mold Alun School pupils held a tribute on Sunday, April 7, to Abby Beaumont who was described by her parents as “a beautiful and lovely young girl full of promise".

The video on social media taken by Abby’s father, Darren, shows a release of balloons and paper lanterns in memory of his daughter.

Mr and Mrs Beaumont said they were touched by the level of maturity and compassion shown by the students who were friends with their daughter.

Jane Cooper, headteacher at the Alun School, said: “The school community was shocked and immensely saddened to hear of Abby’s death.

“Abby was a model pupil of whom we were incredibly proud. Her teachers appreciated her studious and hardworking nature and enjoyed teaching her very much.

“She will be greatly missed and we wish to extend our thoughts and condolences to Abby’s family and friends at this saddest of times.

“The Alun School has a strong and close community and is supporting students and staff as they try to come to terms with this sad loss.”
