VISITORS to Wrexham Library will have noticed some changes to the foyer area recently as works to refurbish it and make it a part of the library itself have taken place.

Users who are short of time can now quickly and easily return or renew a book, choose a new read, recharge their devices or pick up a book they have previously reserved.

New display cabinets have been installed that include separate sections for all the new biographies, hobbies, lifestyle, travel, children’s books and new fiction.

There is also a 'Quick Choice' to help you if you have not got much time to browse the huge selection on offer in the library.

There is also a great section dedicated to all things Welsh - Welsh biographies, tourism, history, fiction CD’s and DVD’s and a new coffee shop, The Secret Garden, has also opened.

Mayor of Wrexham, Cllr Andy Williams, officially cut the ribbon recently to the new look library.

Cllr Hugh Jones, lead member for communities, partnerships, public protection and community safety, said: “The library is very popular and making use of space is very important. It’s also made it very useful to be able to drop in and re-charge your devices whilst taking advantage of quick access to all the latest reads."

Shan Cooper, libraries lead, added: “The library is always looking at ways to improve the service it offers to visitors and extending into the Foyer area made perfect sense. Visitors are already commenting on how welcoming it is and are making good use of the recharging station."

The library is open 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.
