A FREE concert is to take place at Wrexham's arts hub.

This weeks’ free to attend live music showcase in Ty Pawb welcomes Dave Hopkins and Ian Stopes who will present 'The Garden Suite' - movements of music for the Flute, Clarinet and Soprano Saxophone accompanied by Acoustic or Spanish guitar.

The Garden Suite is inspired by the sights and sounds of the gardens of the world and of the imagination, interleaved with poems and monologues. This will be another very special recital in the lunchtime concert on Thursday, April 11 commencing at 1pm.

Audiences for these concerts average between 60 and 80 to these weekly concerts.

On April 18 there is a new Wrexham Music Festival for school pupils and students under 19 in a celebration of music in building character, self-confidence, life and social skills.

In a day-long event, 17 young people will perform in front of a live audience. The under 12 age group will perform from 9.15am to 12pm and the 13 to 18 age group from 2.15pm through to 5pm.

In between, the live music showcase recital at 12.45pm will welcome Elias Ackerley from Coedpoeth with Julianna Antczak, both students at Chethams in Manchester who will perform work by Beethoven and Rachmaninoff's Sonata for cello and piano.
