Chirk hosted its Visioning Event last week to look at the next 10 to 15 years in the area.

Businesses, employers and councillors were at the meeting at Chirk Parish Hall to look at ways in which the town can be developed.

The last Visioning Event was held almost 15 years ago – Chirk Town Council chair Jackie Allen said she believed the event was a success again this time round.

She said: “It was a very very successful event.

“We had a lot of people present to get together and discuss what Chirk has, needs and how we can go about putting these things in place.

“A variety of things were discussed, including the potential for more accommodation and better signage to show people from destination to destination within the area.

“We also looked at working better with working partnerships in order to deliver what the community needs and to develop a better working relationship with our surrounding areas.

“There was a tremendous input from people in attendance.

“Ideally, we want to keep promoting Chirk and the tourism our area offers.”
